JOB TITLE: Internal Audit Manager

REPORTS TO: Audit and Risk Committee
 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Internal Audit Manager will manage the Audit Department and staff; develop and update the audit program and audit scope based on risk assessments and the needs of the Audit Committee, management, regulatory requirements, outside auditors and other applicable factors. Conduct internal audits to determine whether controls are adequate and effectively maintained in accordance with Bank policies and procedures. Manage and coordinate audit engagements with the Company’s independent registered public accounting firm and outsourced internal audit firm.

Responsible for ensuring that policy, procedures, controls and testing are being adhered to consistently throughout the organization in order to safeguard company assets, verify the accuracy and reliability of its data and promote adherence to prescribed policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for audit policy, audit plan, audit budget, and audit reporting based on the findings

2. Plan, supervise and manage the timely execution of the financial and operational audits

3. Develop annual risk assessments

4. Assist in testing and documenting financial reporting controls and their effectiveness for compliance with requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and FDICIA

5. Responsible for the entire audit function of the Bank to include Internal Audit, Regulatory Compliance, Loan Review, IT Security Monitoring, Facility Security, external audit coordination, and reporting. 
 
6. Manage audit and compliance staff

7. Write audit reports and conduct exit conferences with management to discuss findings and recommendations

8. Conduct follow up reviews and evaluate management responses

9. Meet regularly with the Audit Committee to discuss the activities of the Audit Department

10. Coordinate and supervise the annual audit process with external auditors

11. Attends various management meetings to provide guidance regarding internal control aspects of policies and procedures

12. Coordinate and supervise regulatory examinations for the Bank and the Holding Company

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  Bachelors degree in Business, or other related field.

Experience:   5-7 years or more experience and/or formal training in accounting, auditing, and regulatory compliance and reporting.  Relevant work experience in banking, other financial institutions, public accounting, and/or regulatory agency.

Skills:    Strong adherence to the Code of Ethics and Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing as developed by the Institute of Internal Auditors.  Ability to prioritize and organize work with excellent written and oral communication skills.  Ability to interact effectively with employees, senior management, directors and other contacts.

Certifications:   CPA, CIA, BIA or other similar professional degree.
