
JOB TITLE: Business Development Officer DEPARTMENT: Retail FLSA JOB STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Regional President
Responsible for achievement of market business development and sales goals, while providing and continually enhancing superior customer service skills. Outside calling efforts on prospective and existing customers will be key function of this role. Closely work with branch staff(s) to achieve maximum business, sales and service quality goals with focus on increased profitability. May supervise, direct and manage overall activities of the branch including lending and deposit functions. Is responsible for efficient operation of branch facility. Provides support, guidance and training to staff. Utilizes knowledge and experience in exercising discretion and independent judgement in dealing with customers and community relationships. Aids in resolving problems and answering questions. Ensures staff follows established bank policies and procedures.
1. Responsible for prospecting for new clients, including consumers, businesses and governmental agencies, to generate new deposit and loan relationships with minimum outside calling goals.
2. Responsible for achievement of assigned loan and deposit goals through growth of existing clients and addition of new clients
3. Work with assigned branches to create and support business development plans, including joint calling efforts with branch personnel.
4. Follow up on referrals provided from branches in assigned areas and reporting back results of calling efforts
5. Work with CPA's, attorneys, financial planners, etc., to develop networking opportunities within assigned markets.
6. May oversee, supervise, direct and manage overall branch activities
7. Represents bank by Participating in community and civic organizations and projects.
9. Assists staff in handling business development inquiries.
Education: 4-year degree in Business Administration or related field or previous experience in financial services
Experience: 5+ years experience in Retail Sales, including banking experience
Skills: Management/supervisory skills; Excellent communication skills; Proficient knowledge of all bank products and sales process.
