Mortgage Loan Officer - Cambridge and Dover, Ohio 

 

JOB TITLE: Mortgage Loan Officer                            DEPARTMENT: Residential Lending                                                  FLSA JOB STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: VP Residential Lending

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs all facets of lending; interviews applicants, explains loan programs available, oversees processing and underwrites.  Makes recommendations to Underwriting.  Assures applicant receives all forms and notices to comply with federal and state lending regulations, consumer protection laws.  Acts as closing officer for all consumer, home equity and refinance loans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Interviews loan applicants and explains different loan options available.  Provides counsel, if necessary, regarding business management and financial matters.  Sells credit life and disability insurance.  Cross-sells other bank services.

2. Completes all loan documentation necessary for underwriting.

3. Analyzes file information, credit reports and appraisals. 

4. Enters loans into loan prospector for secondary market approval, and then submits loan application to processing for action.

5. Act as closing officer for all approved consumer, home equity and refinance loans.

6. Maintains professional contacts (realtors).  Increases bank's visibility and new business opportunities through good community relations.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  High school diploma; 2 or 4 year degree preferred or prior experience in lending.

Experience:   2 years of lending experience.

Skills:    Proficient knowledge of consumer and mortgage loan products;  Basic knowledge of loan on-line system;  Good communication skills.
