JOB TITLE: Collector I
DEPARTMENT: Credit Administration                                               FLSA JOB STATUS: Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Collection Manager
 

JOB SUMMARY:

Functions as a representative of the Advantage Bank Credit Administration Department.  Maintains communications and originates workout plans, repayment plans, and loss mitigation efforts with delinquent borrowers that should result in curing the delinquency.  Updates all customer contact in the on-line collection system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Communicates with delinquent borrowers through telephone collection, mailing of letters, notices and other communications.

2. Originates workout plans, repayment plans, and loss mitigation efforts with delinquent borrowers that should result in curing the delinquency. 

3. Assists in day to day activities involving past due loans, customer dispute resolution, preparation of collection documents and loan maintenance forms, on-line account research, and other related functions.

4. Completes skip tracing on borrowers the Bank has not been successful in locating by using various industry accepted techniques.

5. Assists in the completion of monthly reports for the Board, Senior Management, and the Credit Administration Department.

6. Utilizes and updates the on-line collection system for tracking all customer contact, returned mailings, and return payment notifications.

7. Maintains and updates all procedures related to the essential job functions and responsibilities of this position.

8. Uses Advantage Instant Checks in the collection of delinquent loans.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  High school diploma or GED

Experience:   Two years in a banking or finance related field, preferably loan related.

Skills:    Proficient knowledge of consumer and mortgage loan products; basic knowledge of on-line loan system; excellent written and verbal communication skills; computer literate with proficient skills in Excel; excellent organizational and analytical skills a must.
